Scholarships

Congratulations to our recent recipients!

Sofia Chicote

The Mimi Michaelis Award in Dance

A native of Santa Barbara, Sofia has always been drawn to the art of Flamenco. Her father is from Spain, and visiting family there further inspired her desire to improve and polish her skills as a dancer. In 2017 she was First Runner Up to Spirit of Fiesta, and has since had the opportunity to perform an accompanying solo with Benise at his Grenada show.

Chelsea Chaves

The Dorothy Artaud Award in Vocal Music

Since graduating with her masters degree from the USC Thornton School of Music, Chelsea Chaves has sung with the Pacific Chorale, soloed with Pacific Symphony, and performed at various private events around Los Angeles and Orange County. Roles performed include Pamina (Die Zauberflöte) with the Astoria Music Festival, Hanna Glawari (Die lustige Witwe) with Chapman University and Lay Sister (Suor Angelica) with Opera Santa Barbara.

Helping artists on their voyage!
