2016/17 Actor & Author Scholarships

Application and Guidelines

Scholarships from the John E. Profant Foundation For The Arts are funded by community support of the annual Fiesta Finale as well as by contributions, grants and bequests.

The mission of The John E. Profant Foundation For The Arts, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, is to assist developing artists in the categories of music, dance, visual art, drama, and literature. In 2014 we made a change to our application process, and now focus on each discipline in a separate application period. The current round is focused on Drama and Literature. We offer scholarships ranging from $500 to $2000, to applicants who successfully complete the application and review process. The scholarships shall not be limited by age and may be used to provide basic living support as well as tuition depending on individual needs. Recipients may reapply for continuing support.

Preference may be given to artists unable to qualify for traditional scholarships, i.e. age, financial situation, etc. The selection committee will consist of established artists in the applicable field, residing outside the County of Santa Barbara.
